Brown Rice and Cherry Breakfast Bake

Let’s talk breakfast habits.

Many many bloggers claim breakfast to be their favorite meal of the day. Mine it’s not. I am not the biggest eater in the morning. I am a coffee person. That’s what I crave, that’s what I need. Also I am enjoying savory food much more than sweet food but I can’t eat something savory right away in the morning.

In the past I’ve been going trough breakfast phases but I won’t go into detail about that today. I’ve discussed this in length here before. My current breakfast phase could be described best with ‘whatever no bake thing I have on hand and if none maybe there’s some cottage cheese or a banana somewhere in the fridge’! You see I can’t warm myself to the concept of breakfast at the moment.

So why this lengthy talk about my non breakfast habits when I am clearly going to post a breakfast recipe? I have a point I swear and I am going to tackle it now:

The point is the other person living in this apartment, the person I feed next to myself, better known as Stefan or the hubby. He likes breakfast and he is a sweet breakfast eater. Fact is he often complains about my breakfast foods not being sweet enough. I take this into account especially when I make something for him. Like this.

I’ve told you before (only yesterday when I think about it) that I express my feelings with food. And as he is the person I feel most passionately about on this planet it might not be too much of a surprise that it is my heart desire to stuff this man like a Christmas goose.

So to make sure he starts his day well fed and with some decent nutrients I came up with this bake that is easy to prep and combines a few of his favorites. Make this bake on a Sunday evening and you’re set for the entire week. No fuss in the morning just devour a piece of it directly from the fridge or even heated up a little in the microwave. It’s also great to pack and take to work when you like to eat your first meal a little later like my Christmas goose does!

Homemade Triple Almond and Chocolate CLIF BARS

Breakfast is a tricky meal for me. I go through phases that change every few month or so and whilst being in a specific phase I cannot eat anything else no matter what. When we go out for breakfast I even eat a first phase-friendly breakfast at home. There was the oatmeal era, the green smoothie phase, the tit bake era and now I am head over ears in love with CLIF BARS ❤

Some time back I tried to recreate my favorite peanut flavored CLIF BAR. The result was this no-bake Homemade CLIF BARS.  Today I took a different approach and made a baked bar that not only combines all the good things from bar #1 but also takes the deliciousness to the next level!

The Homemade Triple Almond and Chocolate CLIF BARS are naturally high in protein and therefore don’t need any added protein powders. I swear I’ll never touch a store brought bar ever again for breakfast! Okay I back out. Let’s say I will when I am going to the US in summer. Too many great flavors we don’t get our hands on here.

Paleo Breakfast Cake

Great things come out of mugs. Let me procure some evidence: Coffee, Tea, Mulled Wine, Coffee, Hot Chocolate, Coffee, Coffee, Coffee… okay I am back. And that’s only the liquid part. Because then there are our beloved mug cakes obviously. Many great recipes are out there and today I am going to present you the one that makes my breakfast a pleasant start of the day.

I does look good, doesn’t it? And who could resist cake for breakfast? I certainly not!

Grain free Hash Brown Lasagne

Hello lovlies,

it’s Friday and officially my last day at work for more than 7 beautiful weeks! I am torn. Excitement, freedom and joy on the one hand and on the other hand I am a little afraid that something goes wrong in my absence. But anyways I am not there so I won’t even notice 🙂

If you are a regular visitor/ blend/ stalker you’ve certainly already realized that I have a huge addiction to Sweetpotato stuffed with Chili con Carne and melted cheese. As Chili is a big fat NO on my plate during the Whole30 (which will be over next Wednesday) I made a huge batch of Quick Bolognese the other day. You have to fill the chili gap somehow, haven’t you?

Then on Tuesday I had some Bolognese as well as some hash brown leftovers. I reckon minced meat and sweetpotato are very close friends in my mind so who is actually surprised that the idea of this lovely Grain free Hash Brown Lasagne was born. For me (at the moment) without cheese for Stefan the real deal!  Stefan said it’s one of the best Lasagnes he ever had. I know he might be a little biased but never look a gift horse in the mouth…

Sweetpotato Bruschetta

Hello lovlies,

I am just popping in to show you my today’s lunch. I didn’t plan on posting this recipe nor did I have a real recipe but my lunch turned out to be so darn delicious that I don’t want you to deny to enjoy this quick and easy piece of deliciousness.

 bruschetta

Ever since I say Arman’s massive Birthday Breakfast Bruschetta on Wednesday I knew I needed something alike in my life asap! As I try to cut back on grains at the moment I decided I needed another base. And what’s always a wonderful base for anything? Yes, you’re right! Sweetpotato!

So the idea was born!
