Hot Chocolate Blackberry Marinade

I really love the use of fruit in a marinade. After successfully using peach, strawberries and cherries in my marinades I mustered all my bravery and went a little crazy with this one! When I found a really ripe and sweet-smelling bowl of blackberries in the supermarket I just had to make a new marinade with them!

My first idea was to create a taste of strolling through the woods and picking berries. The texture turned out to be amazingly creamy but I wasn’t really happy with the taste. Something was missing! Something sweet and spicy that goes along well with the taste of wood. Like the witch’s gingerbread house in Hänsel and Gretel!

But it is July and I can’t bring myself to gingerbread my marinades now. But I can chocolate it! Chocolate, chocolate…. Chocolate and Sriracha!

So I tweaked the recipe a little, added a little sweet and hot and voila,

Healthy Rocky Road

Though I am entirely a creature of habit when it comes to eating food I often get bored and need a new inspiration when it comes to making food. I like to eat the same things over and over again but need variation in the cooking process nonetheless. Sometimes when I eat out at a restaurant or a food market I find something I need to recreate like the Swabian Dinnete or I try to substitute sugar loaded versions to create my own healthy snacks like the Homemade Clif Bars or the Hazelnut Quinoa Bars. And most of the time I just try to create something around my favorite foods like the Lemon & Garlic Asparagus Focaccia.

Irresistible Super Fudgy Chocolate Brownie

It’s already Friday and further on he cold/flu bastard thing has me in its iron grip. I am more than annoyed to be still sidelined. I know food is not the best way to comfort myself but after one week I am more than ready to turn to dessert to cheer me up. Luckily there are a lot of healthy options out there. And one of those is this Irresistible Super Fudgy Chocolate Brownie.

The recipe is grain-free, free of added sugar, vegan, paleo and you don’t even need an oven. It takes about 15 minutes to whip up a batch plus a solid hour for cooling and then you can dig in an entire batch as healthy is more than a false promise when it comes to this brownie. And additionally it has a nice little adult touch-up 😉

But I haven’t told you the best yet: By simply changing the measures a little you get a sticky and perfect chocolate spread to smear all the things with! Well that’s cool, isn’t it 😉

No Bake Hazelnut & Chocolate Granola Bars

I wanted to treat my husband to something delicious yet not totally rubbish nutrition-wise. I wanted something chewy and chocolaty. Just something that he would like.

He likes chocolate, he likes sweet and treats, he likes granola bars. Oh yeah, granola bars. The chewy ones, the no bake ones… oh yeah he will like me! No scrub that – he will love me!

I personally really like the chocolate in between two layers of granola dough. It’s very delicious and you can keep your hands clean eating them. But judge yourself. I am already hooked ❤
